Slingshotıs Mark Doyle takes his talents to snow with a 3rd place finish at the 2003 Mammoth Kiteboarding Event. Doyleıs on-water talents made a nice transition to snow with the same aggressive but smooth style. The Maui Boy took his first kite snowboarding steps in the white stuff only two weeks prior to practice for the event.
Slingshot Snow Team Rider Paul Macaj, although injured, helped set the event course with rails, kickers, and a few beer cans. Doyle consistently hit the rails and kickers, nailing in-the-air handle passes along the way. The light winds brought out big kites, with Doyle riding on the B-8 and the 17 Fuel.
Mammothıs Wave Rave Snowboard Shop hosted the 3-day event with 2-days of judged free-riding, an Expression Session, and Awards & Video party. A few hundred spectators attended the weekend event under sunny skies and sometimes squirrelly winds. Slingshot invited onlookers to fly B2 Trainer Kites while slinging burgers and hucking beverages.
