Kites on Ice draws over 75,000 attendees each year.
What: 7th annual Kites On Ice event with the focus on the sport aspect of kiting. Snowkiting is a main focus this year and we're going all out to make sure everyone has a great time.
To show you we're serious about this...Don McKay and his crew from Tyrol Basin Ski and Snowboard Area have generously offered to let us park one or two of their snowmaking machines right on the ice and blow huge amounts of snow for a tricked out terrain park / slopestyle course. Even though mother nature is being very generous right now, we will still need more snow to build the terrain park the right way.
Slopestyle competition Saturday and Sunday at 1:00. Come and ride or come and watch.
Skiercross and Boardercross: race for fun. Grab some friends and have at it.
Major Companies attending this year's event and showing the latest and greatest gear:
Realkiteboarding. Cape Hatteras NC. Matt Nuzzo will be making the truck along with Zach Young, Gregg Knekko and either Trip Forman or Lucy Nuzzo. www.realkiteboarding.com
Slingshot Sports: Jeff Roberts, Alex Peterson and Aaron Sales will be seen flying around the event. The Machines... www.sskiteboarding.com
Ozone Kites. Brian Schenck and his bandits at www.windzup.com will be here in full force showing the latest and greatest gear from Ozone kites. ET (Erik Thompson) with Cabrinha will also be on hand. www.cabrinhakites.com
Disclaimer: This sport can and will be addictive. Be prepared for the stoke.
Note: Even though we're going all out to put on a great event for the riders, ultimately, we're trying to attract new riders to the sport, and show them how much fun we have on the snow. Please talk to any and all interested friends and bring them along.

Big-Ramp Construction Pictures (KOI 2005):

Here are two of the pics that show the size of the large jumps we made. The pile in 060 is actually built up another foot or so from the picture. The gap jump is about the same. That's an 8 ft gap! No kites higher than 45 degrees or it doesn't count!
