I predict rain/sleet in Chicago area but in northern IL/Southern WI hopefully some good snow. Wind forecast is looking great.

I have a few good fields in Northern IL/Southern WI if anyone wants to meet up and ride tomorrow text me at 847 - 571 -745seven

Good luck with that, I fear that you won't find enough snow this afternoon in IL/WI unless you drive way up NW.

Please post updates if you get to snowkite.

For southern WI (Kenosha WI)

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST this
evening.

* Timing... snow will then linger through the day. Any lingering
rain or mixed precipitation will changeover to snow through 1
PM. The heaviest snow will occur through 2 PM this afternoon.
Standing water from the heavy rainfall yesterday will freeze
today as temperatures drop below freezing.

* Snow accumulations... 2 to 3 inches.

* Winds... north 15 to 25 mph... shifting northwest and gusting to
30 mph

Did it snow enough up there? Is it kiteable?

The wind looks indeed pretty good.

Pier,

We got about 5 inches of snow, but it rained so much before the snow came that the lake surface is really weird right now. Soft and slow underneath. It's supposed to get really cold and the snow should set up much better if it doesn't all blow off.

Let me know if you are thinking of heading up this way.

Hey Bob,

I’m taking the wife at Devil's Head tomorrow for some snowboarding and we plan to spend the night in Madison so that we can get to snowkite on Sunday.

It sounds like you will be getting a couple more inches of snow tonight and Sunday the wind should cooperate, are you still planning to go out?

Most likely yes. Tenney park on Mendota will be a good location for Sunday.

Call me Saturday night or Sunday morning to confirm. Have fun at DH.
