If there's still wind I hope to stop by tomorrow for an after-work session.

Nice long days now. Happy summer solstice everyone!

How was the weather overall, rain? Any waves?

It sure didn't pan out in Madison, rain and weather all day. The forecasts I looked at for South Haven did not support the actual wind, does the wind jump this forecast usually? (for ex. when zion is forecasted to blow 20 on a north and it blows 35 all afternoon)

... then back up to 13s after 4:30, wind up & down a bit until it started blazing again lighting us up on those 13s... until we became overpowered!

Waves were rollin' and some got pretty tall! Wind was forecast to fall off around 4 when the chance of storms increased. Only saw a short sprinkle around that time. Then the sun peaked out again & the wind stayed on 'till after dusk. Great day at da Hāve!

Aw yeah....glad Da Haven was rockin', didn't make it myself but some of the local crew did the downwinder to Saugatuck....a cool 22 miles!!!!!

Jens, Chris gave the heads-up to everyone on his post on South Haven the day before...gooooooood call Chris, it was right on. With the amount of upper level flow locked in, it was just a matter of time as it heated up. Just had to hope that the rain didn't shut it down, or come with thunder and lightning...might pop again over there today.

Glad that some of the Chicago crew got on the road and got some of that wind.....hopefully the boyz down at Wolf had a good time as well!! :D

yeah i saw his post,
but no forecast had it in the 20's and sounds like any rain would kill it which the radar was littered with , combined with work around here it was too much of a gamble for a 6 hour drive. what held you back?

When I first arrived at 11:45 it was dead calm then started to rain really hard (8 kites blown up on the beach and every one standing around with long faces). I went to town for a bite to eat and by the time I got back it was sunny and starting to blow. It just kept getting better and better with some waves building as the day went on. One of those days you just can't wipe the grin off your face!

Glad you got it good Jay. Got several reports from the boyz on the great conditions, wished I could have joined in....

Yeah Jens, just couldn't break away......swamped with work, and just trying to get caught up.....hoping to be back in action by the 4th....then I won't be passing on the wind and waves. Gonna be a rockin' Summer.

BTW, I got a board I need to get to you to test out for me.....let me know the next time the Madwakers are heading to the BIG LAKE!! 8)

Sure nice to hear about all the ripping going on with my buddies though, feels as though I was on the downwinder with the bros to Saugatuck....I can almost taste the Oberon's as they came flying out of TG's cooler!!!
