Zion tomorrow 7/13

Just saw the forecast, tomorrow is 15-20 with sunny skies, which usually should fire. In the summer sheboygan wind will die once the land heats up on a north while Zion Bumps from what I've seen.

The Sheriff and crew might have to come down for a visit.

But what do the locals think????

a little more information: i am stuck at work until about 4:30 tomorrow. i need to get to the closest place I can and it looks like casino will work with the wind direction. If anyone has any informtion i would love to hear it.

Hey hey.....sheriff heading South, now I like hearing that one!!!!!!!!! Summertime NE is gonna be a get to the beach and put some positive vibes out there kind of day. Direction is good, probably going to ebb and flow a bit, so be patient and milk what you got......easy for the Wisconsin rowdies

Starting a job tomorrow but I will keep an eye on it!!!!!!!! Give me a shout on your way down captain........Zion will definitely be the call, although a late afternoon push is definitely possible down at casino..........happy kiting to all!!

I would be surprised if you dont see 23-25miles on the meter tmr,,that switch to ENE(witch would be killer for a day)is called off,worth the drive for you.Tmr is one the those day I have to go to work,but if you want a idea,wait for some waves to build up and head for 5miles downwinder to Waukegan...

Sheriff...I already used the Goiter excuse. Plus how am I going to explain its mysterious disappearance the next day? Looks like it's blowing out there already. The trees outside my death cube window are swaying pretty good.

With zion closed is it still possible to do the downwinder but from another point? I was hoping to run that a few times today

A launch at North Illinois Beach is possible but tight......be aware that encountering any difficulty along the way will result in hiking the beach back to the launch spot....there is next to no chance to not have to do that.....

The alternative is to walk upwind at Wauk. to the power plant.....launch your kite and kite upwind a bit towards Zion....look for the Rivermouth....that's the GOODS!!!!!

I'll be at Waukegan/Zion at 4:00. I might check out Zion first to see if at least the beach is open.

Rolling out of the city within the hour. Will head to Zion first in hopes that it reopened this morning. Otherwise, I'll head up to Waukeegan from there.

Spoke to the people at zion a few minutes ago and the entire park is closed still. North beach is open though she said. Lots of white caps here, so with zion out and our forecast getting up graded the wife and I are going to kite our front yard. Going to be riding some serious flat water behind our jetty in the morning. I still think the wind will die about noon or 1 though and then might head down.

Any one heading up to north beach want to give a report on the launch???

Yes, it was a good day at the Kegs today. I hope everyone there, and there was almost 100 kites (figurative speaking), had as much fun as I did, ore more. I got there around 5:00pm, but there was still enough time for me to get a good workout. The water was as worm as in Caribbeans. Many good people; had a pleasure of meeting West for the first time and glanced at this bright colored Brokite boards. Maybe I will get a chance to try them next time. All in all, really good day out there with few good men (and ladies) Hoping for more days like this during summer, but I realize that's a rarity. Cheers.
