Sorry I guess I should have said, I was looking for an actual wind reading, not a prediction. Does the lighthouse in SH have a wind meter on it? Why do, I think, I remember a camera on it at one point also?

do u have iphone? if so u can get same app and u will have wind reading there from sh

i tunes look for wind alert or wind finder
adroit phone may have that app too

Any thoughts about going to Waukegan tomorrow? A student and I would like to find something closer to Chicago than South Haven if possible. From the forecasts that I am looking at, it looks like it will be SSE at Waukegan tomorrow but I am a bit concerned it will not come in strong enough. Thanks for any input!

yea... the last fct has is now SSE, which means Illinois Beach / Keeg's.

We'll have to check again after 10pm.

Talked to the Sheriff yesterday.....he was worried about passing thunderstorms today interrupting the wind pattern.....but ya never know!!! Same could be said bout Keegs.....but a little patience and a bit of luck might turn things your way........

Going to take our chances and check out Waukegan. Looks like most of the storm activity is to the North of there for now. I'll update the conditions if I can when I get there. Looks like it will switch offshore there a little later though. Wish us luck!

SE and light at the moment, about 10-12 knots. Guess it was better earlier but maybe will pick up a little later again. Supposed to switch to SW at some point though.

Good day hanging out at the beach with nice kiters. Wind was super light and almost straight onshore. Great day for a safety land lesson! :wink:

Crossing fingers for wind soon and looking forward to the next time!
