7/23 - Monday in Michigan

Postby xwindsurf » Sun Jul 22, 2012 9:01 am

If Sailflow and Windalert are right, and the thunderstorms won't spoil the fun, tomorrow looks amazing between St. Joe and Grand Haven.
Any thoughts from the experienced guys what might work best, or better yet, where they are going?

Keep checking as they update the forecasts. They water has warmed up so the cold water kill may be less.

The more south the farther north you have to go to get an onshore wind.

South Haven is a good start...Oval Beach at Saugatuck is next.

Watching the forecasts.... Mike.

These models change very fast... now they show hardly anything past 10 am... But who knows, let's see how it will evolve

Models are a shot in the dark even two days out. Plus they never ever take in to account local events and conditions. When there a is a chance of storms or rain the model becomes even more unstable and unreliable. I try to look for trends between a couple different sites. It always sucks when a good forecast falls apart, even worse when Ikitesurf says big wind, people at the beach waiting and the locals are no where to be seen. I see that a fair amount here Today we rode lit up on 10's and 12's for 4 hours with nothing in the forecast until this morning and that was topping out at 15mph.
I'd rather be Rollerblading
