I was there yesterday in the late morning. There were snow mobiles moving about on the lake throughout the day and what looks like a few ice shanties in the distance. I also drilled into the ice near the shore at the Charles Haling & Sons Resort put in and reached more than 6 inches before I gave up and starting setting up my kite. The only disconcerting thing was the 1-2 inch layer of slush between the ice and the top snow layer.
Overall: solid ice, several inches of nice soft snow... unfortunately not enough wind for yesterday. I hope you have better luck today.
Tomorrow looks to be too warm, no? What with the rain and all?
