Ok new guys. Remember that things happen 4 to 5 times faster and farther than you're used to. Longer higher jumps can take you right into another rider or onto the beach. Kites fly very fast

Stay safe and watch out for eachother.

scored super short sesh this morning at Keegs, saw big cloud coming so landed kite just before the STORM hit the fan... everyone is safe although I was worried for some windsurfers who got stuck at the main beach, it was pretty bad for a while - subjectively 80-90mpg gusts and lightnings, lots of them, noaa windmeter must be off since it only shows 58knts max

Busting big mega loops or killing it in the waves the day before gets way more respect then riding the edge of big thunderstorms and lightening for a half hour, just BTW! Seems, with all the warnings and nonsense that day, this is a part of the sport you should not boast about or promote and hardly admirable. I mean would it really be all that fun drifting in cold 45 degree water, in 35knots of offshore west wind when you could have or did ride the entire day before showing off your moves?

I actually, and not knowingly swam in on one of those scenarios early in my kiting and still remember the fear that set in some 12 years later. Go big not stupid and keep others safe by not announcing it too! Again there were strong warnings that many even reported here on the forum.

near perfect conditions when I launched - side/slightly on shore, storm rolled in sooner than I expected - so yes it was too short and not worth it, and yes Saturday was good - especially the sunset session... your statement about 35knots of offshore west wind is incorrect - wind was at 190 degrees (to 150 during storm)
