Cool the wind is back for a short stint. Get out if you can i have a feeling this could be our last one for awhile. I'll be at Montrose in the afternoon with some hot chicks 8) . Maybe a little piggy back session for them

Wind seems great Thursday and Friday. I will try to be at Montrose.
Is there any Thermic effect that could stop or reinforce the wind?
Thanks

I'm still not the best of this so I could be wrong, but it sounds like a North wind in the later afternoon gets pulled it even more towards land. So, reinforcement of the north wind

It must be the water at Montrose that affects you guys like that.....or the "city living"....can't quite figure it out.... always good for a laugh as long as you can roll with the punches.

Henry, instead of a date, maybe just give it a title like Thumpin' Thursday or Throwback Thursday, then you could bust out the old Wipika 2-line or a Picklefork!!

Alanternier, The physics here is simple: cold air over water is denser, hot air over land is less dense, and gets even less dense as it naturally goes up; that leaves vacuum to be fill in. That's the thermal. So as long as the wind is toward the shore, and there is enough temp difference between land and water, the wind should increase; that's the theory at least.

Seems quite logical. I can't wait to test the theory tomorrow

Yeah it's died off quite a bit now. I'll still try Montrose in the afternoon and evening (maybe thermal a bit?)

I'll try around 2. If it doesn't work I'll come back around 5 and try again. Hit me up if you want to know the wind. I'll try to remember to post it up either way.

Fingers crossed for good wind and a thermal to help it along!

Heading to Waukegan and picking up Maurice on the way. We'll be there early afternoon.

Hopefully see you on the water!
