Monday Montrose surprise

Postby slavman » Mon Jun 14, 2010 9:40 pm

Couldn't believe it. Still at work at 7pm, zipped from the NW suburbs with no traffic to check what the graph was showing - steady 15 -17 knots on the lakefront, even though there was no wind inside the city. but I guess that what it is with marginal wind.
nevertheless, perfectly powered 12m kite strapless. very nice water. still kiteable at 9pm.
we have to take advantage of the surprises like this in the "dry" season. c u on the water.

Yeah I took a ride over to check it out and seems to have pulled in. I had a feeling it would. These North winds in the real late afternoon tend to get stronger. I didn't bring my stuff, but it was nice to chill on the beach for a bit. I must have just missed you Slavi

Awesome Slavi!!!I scored numerous sesion on the day like today at Waukegan, nothing is 100%,but today was in the cards..Keegs was showing at 11am 19-20NE,so wind was there, just that switch to E killed it..I left work at 3pm with keegs showing 0 and I get there before 5 and it was already picking up..Its funny when on the non-forecast set up like today I ALWAYS run into Roman on the beach:)))

Keegs was really good today,Marius was on the 10m,it was blowing hard on the outside,,everybody had big smile on the face!!

I didn't get there till 8pm and still got a great 1 hour of riding. can't ask for anything better. this is a beauty of having Montrose as a backyard.
Does anyone have any experience with kiting on Lake street in Wilmette?

There is actually a sign in Wilmette that says no kites. :x
I wonder if there was ever an incident there.
