again,it will be light ....waukegan on NE is usually 5-10+mph stronger than the forecast says and that will get you on the water in the summer dry season

OVERALL EPIC DAY!!!
I spent more of the day at Wolf, kiting with Roman for 2.5 hrs. then we pulled out the windsurfers. At 5pm I felt tired, but Roman was still doing his stuff. The wind stabilized and was keeping strong. I had quick late lunch and hit Miller, the Lake Street beach. Ivo and Pier were there with grins from one ear to another. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. At 5:30p still PLENTY of stable sideshore wind, stronger on outside, flat and small waves on the beach. Pulled out my 12 + surfboard, which I had all day at Wolf, depowered it and was blasting for an hour. Then changed the setting, only to play with Ivo's new surfboard, until 7:40p. This was a perfect day, hope the rest got some action.

You're freaking me. You're saying it was blowing 25 after 2 p.m. till 6 p.m. at Lake St.? Who was kiting at Marquette Park? What kite/boards were you riding and how much do you weigh. I assumed you were flyweights (under 125 lb.)! Lake Street is about 1/2 mile from Marquette Park. Could there be that much difference in wind speed in that short a distance? I'll bet ir wasn't blowing over 12kn further east, at my house. I should have jumped in the car and paid the parking fee!

I'm 180 lbs, 12m switchblade, 6'2 surfboard, ivo's board was 6'0 less buoyant. plenty of juice. i got there after 5p and rode till 7:30p.

Thats exactlly what Im saying..You didnt notice those whitecaps upwind from you?I rode 130,135 and 6'0 surf..For that 130 Brokite I need a lots of power and I was switching between those boards all day long.

It was crazy weird but true!

When we arrived at the beach around 12:30pm the wind was calm, barely rideable so I rigged up my 13.5m taking my time and chatting with IVO.

Time 30min and the wind started to pick up so I went out on my 5.9" directional and was fine. Pretty quickly I realized that a little further out the wind was stronger so I switched on my 11.5m and played with both my 133 twintip and directional: plenty of juice!

Around 2-3pm the wind got stronger even on the beach so I decided to try my 7.5 while IVO his 8 and...well, it was more than enough! Especially further out, like a Sheboygan effect!

When IVO and I were cruising our tacks we both had kind of a weird face saying:"is this real?...sun, warm and so windy at Miller in late June?"...well, it's been like that until 6pm when the wind faded down a little but I kept riding my 7.5 until 7pm when the wind switched around 13-15 knots and I didn't have any fuel left to use a bigger kite...it's Monday night and I feel still sore.

It really suck not seeing all of you guys out, it was an epic day.

Hope we'll get some more!
