I'm not working this week and everything looks like a WNW filling in around noon on the Michigan side. probably going to head for SH and keep going north till I find wind. Any of you wind experts think the bottom of the lake will fill in? or should I just plan to go for Muskegon?

Using the JAVA TOOLS Metar page, it looks like winds all across the region around 5 knots right now. Yopu might find 12-15knts out there somewhere. Im not going to drive 4 hours on that.
Good luck!!

Anything can happen on the BIG LAKE!! That being said....this time of year on a N push, with blue skies.....Muskegon has the best chance for picking up as the day heats up!! Keep an eye on the meter and enjoy the beaches if you make it up there!! Good Luck

It COULD go this afternoon in the Haven but it will be quick and end before sunset. We call it the executive session.
Hoping to see some signs around 3pm.
5pm looks the best then fading before 8pm. Not a very big window.
Hoping for the el norte thermal, but she has been hit and miss this season.
If you have faith and the time....go for it. It may pay off.
Yesterday was a bust in the haven and marginal in MK.
If you ride in SH stay OUT of the swim area.

well like i said I have the time and a skunked day on the beach is better then a lazy one on the couch. I am taking off now for Muskegon then gonna do a couple days up in the TC area with some family and hope to catch a morning or evening session up there. If anyone is up that way shoot me a pm to try and ride together.

Muskegon patten is on. The typical NE in the morning switching to NW. Good sign. I actually see a kiter on the webcam.
Looks like a possible south thermal pattern setting up for Friday through Sunday.

It ripped in MKG today, as it did several other days this past week, plus some small waves. Hard to beat this spot for summertime Midwest conditions. A few guys went up to the big lake they call Gitchagume- 8' waves, 25+ winds, 49F air/41F windchill, 45F water - and she never gives up her dead.
