i'll be at miller EARLY to catch every bit of anything kiteable (haven't kited in weeks) with the flysurfer and the door..

by the way, it's $5 for non-res at the beach east of Lake St. (the one you need to make the loop for), Lake St. is $10 non-res..

That would be called...Marquette Park if you're entering it in a gps or something like that.

There is a statue of Father Marquette as you enter the park. Also, it's a ONE WAY loop through the park. If you're distracted, or end up in a parking lot, it's easy to turn the wrong way....YIKES!

7 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. straight on shore at Miller but once past the shore break...woo hoo..big roller hopping, what a blast!

Then a 10:30 session and I worked my way down to Marquette Park when I dropped my kite in the break. Crap...kept thinking it would relaunch but no such luck. Then my 13m Rev got slammed straight on by a wave and Kablooy! I've never seen a more trashed kite. Leading edge blew up like a pipe bomb completely tearing in two along with the canopy. Bummer. Dude that sucks!!! Sorry to hear that always bad when you lose one of your own... Well I went to Keegs had my kids with me by the time I got there I knew I should have had my 16 instead of my 13 but pumped it up and played with the kids. The wind never came back up so we just enjoyed the day at the beach. Now I spent a good 30 mins talking to the gate cop and asked a few questions about what was going on there. Well the 10-6 has nothing to do with the budget and he said honestly he has no idea why they posted the times. He did say that it was only on the week ends and during the week it is 6am to 6pm which isn't posted. He also said during the week the 6pm is enforced either so I told him "GOOD I can kite at night again" he just gave me a smile and said "YA OK" , we'll see...

What a spectacular day this was..!!I was thinking between Casino or Zion-Keegs downwinder,since practice before fall was needed and all were for dw as well,Marek,Slavi,John,Jacek and me manage to get to Zion around 7.30..We rip Zion for little and and just before took off we re-rig to 8m,9m from 12's and John on 11.5 since wind really pick up.Some super clean nice waves,pumping shorpound all the way,bottom turn after bottom turn leaving no prisoners!!!!With some equipment stops,we get to keegs after 21/2hours and found guys flying 15s16s ..

Got back to Zion to do one more with Slavi,but wind was light and waves fade away.Did some light wind ridding,hang out with Roman and other guys and gals..

Couldnt ask for more,this summer is awesome so far,2-3 session a week and full weekends on top of it..Tuning for the fall baby!!!!!

We got to Casino around 9:30am, the gate was closed (someone should explain me why they open at like 8am during the week and noon for the weekend ) so we drove on the other side of the Whilala beach which was open ($15 for non Indiana residents...).
It was foggy and the waves were big, a bunch of surfers and that cold wind...well, we thought it was already fall!

At 10am the wind was still good but we missed the good stuff, started with 9 and 10m and was too hard to get over the break so we switched to 12 and 13m and rode for a couple of hours enjoying those big waves. Short and sweet session!

Glad you guys had a blast up there.

Oh yeah Ivo......the "famed" Z to W!!!! That's where it all started for us on downwinders. Still my favorite.

How did you like the rivermouth? Birdshit island? Was the hottub running?

That was a blast. Got to rock the 9M for some height. Decided to pack it up at 2 when the wind died down a bit. I'm thinking Zion had better wind then Waukegan. It was almost pure side shore early in the morning. Fun shore break and big veritical ramps. Man the water was cold. Dad was out on the lake and said the temp droped from the 70s to the 50s around the shore around Waukegan. Good wind this summer. Now on to fly fishing!

Yeah, what's with the cold water? Down at the southern tip where it's usually the first place to warm up and the last lace to get cold it was freezing1 Walked in with board shorts and had to land 'er and run in for a 3 mil jacket.

Rode yesterday from 10-12:30ish powered on my 12m. Not enough wind to boost perfect wind to do unhooked shit though.
