Yesterday I got the green light to start kiting again. If Sheboygan looks good for Sunday I may head down. Have to be in Chicago on Tuesday anyways.

Iron Ben, A quick users guide to sheboygan.

-Set up south of the parking lot.

-After launching your kite walk up wind to put more space between you and the beach goers.

-Be prepared for weak and gusty wind on the inside, so ride out far as the wind is as clean as can be.
(newbies really struggle with this, as they want to be close to shore but then they spend all their time in poor wind)

-Never ever kite close to shore north of the parking lot this is where the swim beach is.

-If you go down wind head to the large open beach north of the swim area land your kite and carry it back. Do not fly it over the beach users.

-People learning the large open beach north of the rigging spot is a better to ride.

-Don't be offended if a local gets in a persons face for going to close to the swimmer and beach goers. We really protect our spot

-Enjoy sheboygan its a beautiful spot,

I guess thats it, the wind usually comes in nice and clean for a few hours most days. Water is shorty weather.

I'm trying to decide if it's worth driving up today from Chicago. Monday looks for sure. Any recommendations from the local crew?

Thanks for the info Northerner
It came really helpful. Nice parking close to water.
You were not kitting about local getting "personal" and in your face. I heard few arguments yesterday. In my opinion beach seem to be kind of empty this time of the year and the cop on the quad happen to be big enthusiast of the kiteboarding.
