Postby maly » Fri Sep 03, 2010 5:06 pm

Can you guys share how was it today , I would like to know what to expect tomorrow morning ?
Waves ? gusty ? rip currents ?
Where everybody decided to park ? Marquette park all the way to the west ? or the Marquette parking right on the beach ? How about Lake Street parking?
I'm planning to be there tomorrow morning around 8AM.

Thanks for any comments.

^^^lol funny^^

It was gusty at first because it hinted a little WSW, but once it shifted pure W and even a tad North it was on.

Lots of current pushing Eastward from the West winds(the usual). I didn't see any rip currents that I could tell, but since it's not on-shore winds it shouldn't be bad.

Big rollers did end up forming and they'll be a little larger tomorrow, but again, since it's not on-shore wind it's ok.

Didn't realy start to build waves untill 3pm when then wind went from 20-25knots to 25-30knots. Swam out after a board in the morning. The current is pushing west to east but didn't notice any rips. The waves are probly built today. That was so so fun. Rode the 7.5M for the first time. Wouldn't have wanted to do that if the waves where huge. Yet :)

I arrived around 4:30.... to meet Ian as he left the beach.

The winds were cranking up above 30 by then. Roman and one other windsurfer were out. No other kites on the water.

Terrry K arrived around 5 and we stayed out till 7.

By the time we left, the waves/rollers on the outside were well over head high, and the waves on the inside were around 4 feet (faces).

The FANTASITIC part is that the wind was side shore and the waves were onshore. Just like the ocean! Yes, you could turn down the line and doing top and bottom turns on the waves!

It was my best session of the season! Killer Miller at it's bestest!
