I had a good time on the butter water. The 12M was perfect from 8-9:30, then it lightened up a bit. I was alone for a while so stayed close to shore between the pier and shore.

The new bar had a pretty horrific issue though. I did the Rorke setup with an 09 Eclipse bar with a 2010 Liquid Force Chicken loop and center line. The safety line I had was too tight and was forcing the chicken loop to activate the safety so I removed that went with the suicide safety on the chicken loop itself. Well, the system activated when I was just cruising and with a parked kite. I have my instincts to let go now and that what I did. RIP! The safety on the brand new chicken loop broke. I look at my leash and sure enough the ring is still intact but THEIR plastic attachment broke off. My kite starts gaining ground from my swimming towards it, so I head towards the beach with my board. Luckily the kite angled itself to slowly come towards shore and I picked it up at the other end of the beach.

I got everything set back up and rode for another 1.5 hours, but the wind lightened up as 2 more people showed up. I love riding in the morning like that. It's peaceful, BUTTER flat, and a great view of the city with the sun at your back

I got to Keegs around 1:30pm and it was dead. After 15 minutes and headed back to work. There was one guy who was waiting patiently for things to improve. As a novice kiter I had some hopes for this afternoon. There are still some days left this fall, I guess.

Dude the season hasn't even begun! That kiter showed up as I was leaving I think at like 12:45 he drove up from Brookfield so I know he wasn't going home anytime soon. Can't wait for the fall to hit and bring the winds should be SWEET this year!

PS- Around here only thing to stop us is hard water then we grab a snowboard...

Safe_Cracker,

That's the attitude! I am waiting patiently for those NE fall winds, but I hate cold water. I'm working on getting wormer wetsuite :-)

Hit Bob up he can get you in a set of booties and a nice 6/5/4 wet suit. I have the Zealot and use either my neils pryde 5mm booties or if it is REAL cold I have some F bombs (booties/gloves 6mm) but you lose mobility. Now I do have to say that for flexibility I like the Mystic dry gloves very surprised how well they work for as thin as they are. Henry and I were at keegs with snow on the ground with around 30 knots of wind, my 8m thruster on a 55cm (rabbit setting) bar looked like a bumble bee racing around lOl.

Polo

BTW- Up until recently I kited only in Pompano Beach, FL so I know warm water but here we have no sharks to worry about
