Right now the forecast looks strong out of the North. Anyone planning to get some? Where?

so far so good,
is it better on Michigan side for north wind?
Thinking about waves , water temperature etc.
I would like to go for most of the day to trash my body :) so if needed i would drive an extra hour.

No one heading to Montrose? I might try to get up for a dawn patrol session and be back by 11.

i am thinking with a high temp of 50ish you may need a little more than a shorty. 3.2 or 5.3 for me depending on how the crisp air hits
10 mph?

Should be tremendous on Saturday.....I would expect it to be quite cooler than any day this year. Temps in the 50's, and winds gusting to 30....water a bit cooler as well. Summer is over, bruddahs!!!

If you head to Zion, stay away from the metal pole next to shore, and stay away from the hotel downwind with the rocks lining the shoreline. Shouldn't be any beachgoers....so that's a good thing!!!

If being blown downwind by hotel, SIMPLY go further downwind and land your kite, then walk back upwind......DO NOT walk your kite back upwind by the hotel NEXT to the rocks......seen some bad accidents with rocks and heads colliding......NO GOOD for the ol' noggen!!!

Waukeegan will be very gusty on a punchy NORTH!!!! Kite Safe and have fun!!!!

Just a warning:

Tomorrow will be great and I hope the predictions on 23 mph wind is going to be so true! Keep in mind these are not super beginner conditions, or conditions to teach your friends or family in. Beginners who know what they are doing and feel confident in these condition come on out and have fun with us!

I am bringing my Kodak Playsport cam to shoot some footage. Hope I will get a little more luck this time with it!

Temp: 50 during the day
Feels like: 44 45

In addition, remember that in Zion it gets deep very fast, therefore, you'll have to remember body drag for sure :D

It's not even 10 pm and it's crankin' up to 30.....I would think tmrw is gonna be rockin'......25 to 35, w some swell rollin'......7m and LIT!!!!

I expect the sand to be flyin' down the beach when I pull in to Zion bout 8....should be ultra clean, since it is going to have so much NORTH in it.....Oh yeah, that's my kind of PARTY!!!!!

Zion till noon or so, then hdn to the Casino to get the afternoon swell as it continues building ALL DAY!!!! Anticipating seeing Scottie G. rippn' up the waves as I walk through the parking lot bout 3!!!!
