Looking at da Haven and St Joe area tmrw afternoon. Should be a windy afternoon. Gonna have some Bro boards with me to ride. 144's are available for DEMOS.....

The drive should be spectacular.....I usually make a detour through Coloma on the way to SH.....they have some great backroads with splendid trees....should be going OFF!!

Drove that road thru Coloma a couple of weekends ago on my way back from Muskegon...amazing!

I will get out tomorrow afternoon but I don't know if I'll get as far as St.Joe's, more likely Michigan City.
Depends on how quickly I can leave the orifice.

On a northerly at St.Joe's this time of year do you go to Silver Beach? That could easily sway me to continue driving past MC.

Yes Paul....it would be Silver Beach on a N.....too much NW and it is too onshore, then it would be South Haven. Hope to see you, if not enjoy MC!!

If it gets pretty North and decent at Montrose I may just stick around here, but I'd rather get some better wind/direction.

All systems go.....lookin' like an afternoon blow on the lower Michigan side....think I will take the slow road up to Coloma, and over to South Haven via the "backroads"....should be pulling in to South Beach bout noon!

Bro boyz may do a downwinder to St. Joe. We'll have to see how things are shaping up!! Otherwise we'll just kite Da Haven, and hit Clementine's afterwards. Get out if you get a chance, the warm days are dwindling..

Heading for the Coloma Fall Drive!!!!! With the first winds in a while the leaves should be spiraling around and swiriling their colors in the SKY.

Don't know if I am more excited about Leaf Watching or a 23 mile downwinder with my BROS!!!

I'm thinking about M a little later after this rain. I tried this morning BEFORE the rain. I ended up blowing up my 12, suiting up, harness on, booties on, keys stored, I grabbed my kite in one hand, bar and board in the other and BOOOOOOOOOOOM I saw some lighting in the distance. Looked at the sky like "Why me" and turned around to pack it all up LOL. Oh well for a morning sesh, I came a little too late. I'll cya in the afternoon if you go.

Well I'd be lying if I said that it was anything but EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The road thru Coloma and the blueberry fields turning colors surrounded by every color under the sun with the trees blazing.......the frontal line hugging the Michigan coast as we pulled into Da Haven.....the NNE wind that switched to due N as we looked at the storm passing thru....the waves that were butter smooth at the blue stairs.....a perfect 23-25 mph wind with clearing skies on the horizon....the 5 BROS cruising down the coast with the waves building the entire time....copper and yellow trees lining the sand dunes....the "fishbone" sky that shrouded the sun.....(and you know what was going on for all of the 23 mile run).....toeside, heelside, toeside, heelside, toeside, heelside, toeside, heelside, toeside, heelside.....so many freakin' waves....cranking turns with your buddies three ams-lengths from you, just smilin' and smilin' and smilin'.....rounding the lighthouse at St Joe and taggin' an 8 ftr with your buddy right next to you.....sand blowin' down the beach as we landed the kites......Todd's lovely wife Angie picking us up with a full cooler.....standing on the beach with BIG T, TODD G, STEVE, and JOHN watching the sun melt into the BIG LAKE......the ride back up the Blue Star to South Haven saluting the trees.....Perch baskets at Joe's with everyone just beaming and being.....Now that's my kind of party!!!!! Toasting JIMBO with an Oberon!!!!!

Too dreamlike to even be real....I knew it was fate, destiny, the rock I found up on Lake Superior.....call it what you want....I call it PURE MICHIGAN!!!!

KUDOS to John Lynch....the circle is complete buddy....you rocked!!!! I met John last year in Saugatuck after Jimbo and I did a downwinder from South Haven. He had been windsurfing. We needed a ride, and he kindly offered....gave us water, nuts, chocolate and took us all the way back to Da Haven. I told him to let me know when he wanted to pick up kiting, and I would gladly reciprocate the favor. Well he took right to kiting, and has progressed safely and steadily with his skills. Yesterday, he made the big step.....his first downwinder, and 23 miles at that. KUDOS, that is what it is all about....spreading the aloha, spreading the stoke!!
