Casino might be good if it doesn't have too much West in it.....Miller might be good if it doesn't have too much North in it.........

I'm going to be rockin miller, lake street baby.. Just bought a new mystic warrior ii harness time to lay to rest the days of the seat harness.. Also got me a set of 7 mil booties, now all I need it a 6/5/4 wetsuit and a thanksgiving day ride is in my future!

I will be heading to Miller most likely, never been there. Which is the better side to hit for a semi noob rider? I'll most likely bring extra gear to cover every possible situation or whaterver I can stuff in my Mini Cooper.

If it turns north, Casino, as West says, might be way better, the straight-onshore wind on Miller (i.e. N) makes it really difficult to get through the shore break - or perhaps Michigan City, if that's not too far for you. Or South Haven, if you have as much time and energy as West.

On a different note, sadly, Thursday looks like the last chance of the season to ride without a serious masochistic bend, just look:

Not to chock this thread up but just trying to get the feel for the bottom side. Miller tomorrow till be good on the NW but in the afternoon it is switching to the N, would that be the time to jump over to Casino to finish up? Thanks for any and all info...

casino is not so easy to ride there. small beach trees next to beach huge water pipe in water and power line next to beach.
not to scare anyone. Just make sure u can control your kite before you go there.

Amanda and Mike, so nice to meet you today on the Casino Beach.

What a day... started with my almost new Naish Cult ripped on a tree (my own stupidity, of course), then Ironben's adventure only he could share, if he choses so, then my bad attempt at riding overpowered on a 14m, and then, when I was about to go home, defeated, I decided to pump a 9m - and what a day-saver it was!
On the way out, it was about 60 degrees toward the waves, very playful setup, on the way back, totally parallel to the shore, with ability to chose the face, or the back of the wave, with wind getting steadier and stronger.
Rainbow to the east right before sunset, wildly beautiful clouds speeding through the sky, perfectly pink shore breaks in glimpses of dying sun provided those little extra inspirations, if awesome conditions weren't enough.
We left the beach in a downpour, with the only light coming from the casino building, with big smiles on our faces.
BTW - whoever says it is already too cold should invest in decent gloves, booties and a hood. 5mm gloves, 5 mm booties, and 7 mm hood made it positively toasty today.

Ya, cough them up love a good story ! I guess I am glad I heeded Bens warning about casino!! I showed up at Lake st around 7:00 noticed a small sand dune blocking the parking lot entrance so I hit the gas and took a chance. Well they didn't design mini's to get over anything that is for sure lol. It took me 30 mins to hand dig it out, 15mins later Jason showed up. We rigged and enjoyed the wind which was blowing good plenty of sand snakes 9m all morning. The wind was a NNW which made it difficult for me to ride up wind but downwind I took 1/4 mile trips then walked back. Jason ripping back/forth so I snapped a few pics and he got a couple of me. All in all we had a great time especially me it was my first time to the bottom side of the lake. Jason left at around 12 or so I left around 2:30 and I am beat to shit, good stuff!!

I guess I have no luck to the bars.
Today my chicken loop broke in half (made of plastic) sending a kite on a tree.
Lucky enough kite is OK. it took us a while to figure out how to bring in down.
After replacing a chicken loop for brand new i am cruising on my 9.5 kahoona when during one transition i see kite flying away from me. guess what? chicken loop broke, this time plastic broke on the kite mouth side.

I guess everyone will think that i abuse the stuff or don't pay attention to wereout parts but that's not the case. this is somewhat new bar and these plastic (or whatever they are) should never break. Local distributor for the brand is really confused.

Anyway, good day after all and kite is OK so am I. bar will need to be replace hopefully will not break this time.
Finish the day on Amanda C4 10M but this time nothing broke.
