Just looked it up myself. 6AM Saturday 28 gusting 47

AWESOME (but not a day for the timid / shy.....)

Sunday looks just about as good - 23 gusting 32 at 9 AM

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Having said that, I doubt it will blow that hard; wind forecasts have been tempering as the weather gets closer. Further, if that prediction holds, I'm hoping the ramp up or ramp down hours before and after that will be kitable. Meaning, 6 hours prior it will be blowing in the 20s or similar. Heck - Thursday, Friday and Sunday will be kitable even if Saturday's too extreme.

..... maybe I'll take my 1m FlexiFoil out if it's gusting 47....

Kytbord what site did you looked at? I was looking just at weather.com for Antioch and it shows 17mph wind. Windfinder.com shows for Lake Geneva 16 average over the day. http://www.windfinder.com/forecast/lake_geneva

What I do I just take the average for the 3 websites: http://www.ikitesurf.com/windandwhere.i ... ast+Graphs (this one is Waukegan beach).

And then will have something for that Saturday lol. With 47 mph wind gusts I probably freeze my (_)(_) off during that day!!!! hahaha. If the wind stays around a steady 15 16 17 mph wind I will be at Grass lake. It still early to decide. Lets wait a little till Thursday to judge for real

They aren't typos. It's a computer model, but because the forecast is so far out, one little flap of a butterfly's wings can set things in motion for the next 7 days. I hope it comes in for you guys. I'm going to try and get some snowboarding in somewhere if we can see a few inches by the end of the week. More VIDEO! Later

forecast has improved to possible 25 mph I am 7 miles south of AV ,powder is a foot to 2 in spots can do snowmo /snowboard towin stuff also.

Headed out to Grass Lake around 10:30 before the wind dies out.

Other than having my gear stolen (and later getting it back....I'll post a warning about ATVers stealing gear in the Open Forum section) it was a great day out on Grass Lake.

I counted 6 kites at peak wind , which was just before noon; it blew 10 with gusts to 15 or 18.

Snow conditions were much better than earlier this month, there's about 9 inches to a foot of heavy packable snow. Very easy for newbies like me to dig in & fall, but, all the experts were digging a very nice edge and holding it without reaching the glare ice underneath. It was so packable two guys flying HQs tried to build a snowboard jump, and, were successful but the first boarder through it turned it to mush.

Another gentlemen had a kite made in the DR, called it a Rippehr. Lotsa' power and he was able to get some air on occasion even in today's lighter winds.

I flew my 3m then the 12m Cabrinha Omega HD later & was able to zip along pretty quick when the gusts hit. Later on, say 1pm or so, the wind started to die as predicted and we all packed up and headed home.
