yes and no,
if i can stand i can relaunch the kite no problem, it is only when the kite inverts in deep water do i have a problem, and my solution to that is not trying the pass in deep water till i have it nailed.
With the Cabrinha settup that i use i hook my safety leash just above the chicken loop and when i let go, the kite depowers 95 percent and half the time i can pull myself back to the bar before the kite even starts to fall out of the sky. This used to be called the suicide safety settup before bow kites so if you are using c kites you should rig up a 5th line and attach your safety to that.

I go between the 5th and the depower line now. I think I prefer the depower line, but the kite sometimes hits pretty hard. the new bar has a lot more depower like the bow bars, so it is similar, but the kite is depowered only about 60% I'd say, but better than a suicide leash. Nice try on the pass. I wish I was consistent on it. If my fingers would only heal now (hyperextended them wakeboarding) I might be able to give it a few more attempts...sheesh....injuries!
