I don't know how to upload a link to the gallery photos but today on the Sun Times website, a Photo gallery was posted with photos of Paul and Adrien from saturday at Montrose with rainbow in the background.

As far as kiteboarding is concerned we've all been taken photo/video of for the media. Montrose is a hot spot. From live helicopter shots for the news, to full newspaper articles, magazine spreads, Park districts videos. The whole gambit. I think Saturday and Sunday I spoke to about 5-6 photographers grabbing names and email address. I actually started carrying business cards in my pocket in a zip lock to hand to them and guide them to this site.

You gotta admit the first time you saw kiteboarding were you not amazed by it? Now flying 20-30-40 feet up happens anytime you go to the beach :wink:

Honestly, first time I encountered a kiteboarders was back in Europe, in around '02 or so. I was windsurfing around those guys who were either trying to relaunch their C's or body-dragging to their boards.

I was surprised that they ditched windsurfing for that.

But I do know what you mean. After a few years those same guys were doing dead-mans, kite loops, etc in the same beach, and that just looked incredible. Actually, even today it looks as beautiful as back then. It is like watching something over and over again and not getting tired of it :wink:

Btw I must learn those deadmans on this hatteras trip! You look insane when you do them!

Gie. They are fairly easy man and it feels great to just dangle upside down for a few seconds.

A few tips before you leave:

1.) Take off correctly. Dont' over fly the kite to get maximum height, just send it to 12 and pop off the water. This is so you can let go of the bar and the kite will not have to be redirected.

2.) Notice in the first dead-man pic the stopper I have is about half way down the center line. This helps not only keep my hangtime lasting longer, but also for the recovery it's easier to grab the bar again.

3.) Try, try, try and try again. It's not a move you have to fully commit to and the crashes aren't harsh so you should pick up on this pretty good even though you have the best crashes I've ever seen in person :lol:

. Start with just sending your board all the way into your lines. and hold on to your bar. EXTEND out and look at the water beneath. Land those a few times and letting go of the bar will be a breeze.

I was always thinking more about knives,phones,rescue shit,but business cards? :lol:
