Sick wave kites for sale.
I am selling my 12m and 9m 2009 Eclipse Kima’s.
12m - $400
9m - $375
Very good shape.
12m has a patch over a canopy pinhole. Grey on white – preventative beach fix.
9m has a canopy pinhole that I need to patch. I can do it for you, but it will be a Grey patch on White.
These kites are super sweet for hooked in, wave riding. (“Kima” is Greek for wave.)
3 Struts.
Delta shape.
Pro’s -
Fast turning; Pivoty or Arcing, depending how you pull.
VERY controlled while depowered.
Incredible drift. Hangs in the sky in nothing.
Relaunches quickly and safely.
Very simple to self land.
Excellent bridle design. Front’s and back’s are connected. This is key for me.
Tough as tough can be – Seams, bridles, pulleys, canopy, etc.
Quick to pump up and pack down. One pump.
Con’s
Not the best at getting up wind. They sit deeper for wave riding. They go up wind fine, but not like higher aspect kites (which suck for Great Lakes waves).
Does not unhook well. (Unreal for hooked in though)
Higher bar pressure (not too high to ride for 8 hours a day!)
Does not jump great.
The brand is out of business. But who really cares?
These kite work very well with the Dynabar. (I am not selling mine. Call Bob)
My bar is for sale. $300 used - mix of Eclipse, Liquid Force, and West Marine.
Original, new Eclipse bar - $150. Not ideal for this kite as is, but for $99, it can be made sweet. I could do it for a fee or give directions (directions are on the forum)
I would love to keep this gear forever. I have tried several potential replacements that have come up short.
Pictures to come. I am delivering a boat over the next few days, so I will be out of touch.
