Wow, I'm gonna do some research on this! Thanks for bringing it up. If they are fond of the water sports (which they are) with kayak, SUP, and the occasional kite/wind surfer I think we could see if we can get a spot there. That is, if it looks to be big and safe enough for us. Let's hope for the best here
Our BMOC (Big Man on Campus) Mike Kelly who was really receptive to us and has a surfboard in his office apprantley was the second guy talking on the podium Good stuff.

I missed the chance to fly there.. got my private pilot ticket a little too late to fly there. Really pissed off a lot of pilots. Although I thought it would be fun to take out my buddys Beechcraft and fly somewhere fun to kite..

Add a zero on that for sure. Gonna cost the county a bunch...i'm all for more parks though! Hard to get to for us burbians! But at least its not an apartment building for the ultra riche...
Wow this is going to be expensive$$$$$!! But it doesn't look like they thought about us :( .... I still cant believe they are promoting "Urban Camping"

lookie lookie that fresh water flat little nookie!!! Oh man what a nugget but they will likely freak out seeing kites in that fish lagoon...or will they? Kites are non motorized powered by wind so what's the problem? If this flys you city riders will have the Top10 spot for sure...!
I'm all for better lifestyle and green. Glad Chicago is doing this work. Expensive but it is great...man maybe I need to move back in the city?!
W00t! I'm excited at the possibilities too! If they are gonna let divers and kayakers in they should easily let the kite boarders in (my thoughts at least). If anything it would open up a SW riding spot on the OUTSIDE of the lagoon. This would be the only SW riding spot on this side of the big lake. CRAZY! 2015 can't get here soon enough haha
Wow, I'm still thinking about this spot! This would be a game changer for those of us in Chicago to ride SW winds or even flat water N winds...I'm wondering if we should be proactive and weasel our way in there or not?
