Lake Effect Kite

Postby Rorke » Thu Jan 31, 2013 12:43 pm

We are getting a pounding of snow right now at the Snow Kitehouse.

This weekend should be excellent.

If anyone is in the area, we plan on kiting and watching football.

I don't know how to put photos up here. Been trying for 15 minutes.

check out the banner here though.....http://lakeeffectkite.com/location.html

Nice Rorke!!!

Dig the website artwork and the many cool pictures. Leelanau County is an easy sell and an amazing piece of Americana. The location of Rorke's snowkite house is everything he makes it out to be.

Looks like the last couple of days have been phat and Sunday could be deep pow downwinders.........................hum???

Rorke,

Looks awesome. I can imagine you getting pounded on that side with lake effect snow, hence the name.

Cool stuff.

Update:

My brother and I have had a great time having visitors visit the lair. Good wind, great snow, cool guys, rockin' tunes, high quality brewskis, fires in the fireplace, good grub, etc.

I have been a spectator though.

10 days ago, I had an accident snowboarding and fractured my hip, cracked 4 ribs, and tipped my scapula. Out for the season.

It would still be cool if guys want to come up and experience the awesomeness.

Rorke,

I'm really sorry to hear that, I broke my hip 11 years ago and it wasn't fun.

I wish you a speed recovery!

Cheers

Thanks guys.

Recovery is going great. I can walk around and stuff. Just can't rip it up or I might send a rib into my liver or lung. 3 or 4 more weeks off for safety.

The deepness is great out here. High temps have settled the snow, but the backyard is still killer. Fat skis preferred.
Wind is cranking for next 3 days. Lets hope the sky clears for this full moon.
