GoPro Floater

For all your GoPro cam people now there is the GoPro floater:
Easy to spot flotation backdoor keeps your HD HERO camera afloat.
Great for snorkeling, diving, surfing, wakeboarding and any other deep
water activity. Industrial strength 3M adhesive backing attaches the float
directly to the HD HERO waterhousing backdoor.

Good idea... I tied a string to mine... and then to my helmet.

Another option in addition to the GoPro Backdoor Float, is the GoPro Bobber Handle made by GoPole, that is pretty cool. Allows you to hold the camera more still by hand, but if you drop it will float on the surface of the water.

Looks like the Bobber Handle could be used by your significant other during those lonely times on the beach waiting for your kite to land.... ......just sayin...
