Has anyone flown with the Slingshot Machine? I'm taking a trip to texas over thanksgiving and I'm trying to avoid the oversized baggage fee from the airline. Is there anyway to remove the battens or pack it in a ski bag?

Impossible. Why do you need it in Texas where its super windy anyway?

last time I went to SPI I saw a cabrinha 20 meter being use and some even bigger super giant kite, possibly an adjusted parachute. i also saw a 5 meter kite used one day. The wind is still all over the place there.

I think the only way to avoid oversized baggage charges with the machine is to book it a seat on the plane.

dan, last time i travelled w/ my 17m i folded it around my board (fold your kite in half long ways, start w/ your board at one end and just keep on flippin and rollin) and carried it in a snowboarding bag. no extra charges.

golf bags don't seem to get charged like other sports gear. Get a large rigid golf travel bag and make sure it says ping or titleist on it. If they ask whats inside always say golf clubs.

this bag works perfectly. and it is made alittle larger than the golf bags to be able to hold a board as well. my husband fit his harness, board and two kites among other odds and ends. good investment!
