Bonaire in March 2004

Did your time away from the rat race serve you well? Don't hold out on the crew. Post the details so we can rent the room you trashed last week.

Bonaire in March 2004

Forgot to write up a bit about Bonaire. Awesome riding, but you gotta stay upwind. Offshore winds, but the wind only travels over land for a mile or so, and the land has no buildings or trees, so it is smooth. Beyond buttery smooth water. Literally glass. Huge airs were possible with massive amounts of speed. WIthout having to worry about choppy waves or anything, it was insane the amount of spray I was throwing up.

Atlantis beach was the spot I rode most the time, although I rode off Klein Bonaire once. Sandy beach there, too, in the bay, with onshore winds. The ferry was $14 USD to get to the Klein Bonaire reserve island. When riding or scuba diving in the carribean, you should wear ecologically friendly sun-block. Most sunblock is damaging ot the reef so spend a few extra bucks for the stuff that won't harm the coral reefs.
