Ryan from milwaukee here. Myself and Sam my come down to waukegan if it's not too windy out in milwaukee.

We're thinking about doing a downwinder today, or maybe a few on surfboards. I can remember where we did the downwinder last time. All I remember it was like zion or something down to waukegan (I could be botching this up a lot, been a while. Last year to be exact) but anyways we started at a large beach, went past a power plant with warm water and came in by a break wall. Give me a call if anyone is interested. Usually I'll ride with Wes, Dalius, or Droxler.

So let's hear some late afternoon stories! I happened to be cruisin' down the outer drive about 5p and HAD to stop & check it out when I saw the 25 foot wave crashes on 41st st! The wind was insane!!

I caught two good sessions in sheboygan yesterday. Way too greased on a 9 then perfect on a 6 and my surfboard. I am glad I didn't go to waukegan it was gusting past 50 in the afternoon. The only trade off was that sheboygan was cold. By the time I came off the water around 6 my whole control system had frozen up, I mean encased in ice. No depower, no quick release, ice was glazing the top of my surfboard. The sun was the only thing that made it physically doable.

That's exactly what it felt like on the South Shore around 5! I had to pull my fleece hood tight, lean forward like a bullet & run the 1/4 mile back.... probably about a fast as a swift walk. My quads were screaming when I got to the car!

Yesterday was pretty sweet.

Enjoyed a solo mini downwinder and a snow squall came through. I've had a little snow before, but not like this. Very sensational.

The reason I did a downwinder was to avoid heading too far offshore on my tacks.

Like Jens, when I got in, my whole bar was encased in ice. No QR, no depower, stuck stopper. Not too worried as the OSH were fine, and unlike a donkey dick, my dyna dick works when frozen over.

It was fun. Incredible shape on the waves.

Didnt last long as it was sooooo gusty the 5m inverted or something while i was out and crashed in the water.
