Hey Everyone. If you haven't seen in the open Forum we are having a Chicago Kite swap meet for May 8th. The wind is looking AWESOME that day so please come by if you are going kiting or looking to buy/sell new or used gear.

That's what I thought. Miller it is. Let's meet by the Parthenon looking thing cause I know a lot people spread out at that beach so It's nice to all be in one area

I'll bring a few fermented drinks and if someone can get a BBQ grill I'll get the dogs/burgers/coal.

I'll be at miller REALLY early, probably around 6 or so and then probably hit montrose for the swap meet if it dies out like it's forecasted.. if it's still rockin at 130 i'm going to skip the swapper, cause this kiter's not certified..

It's my wifes birthday on the 8th and we have a full soccer weekend.

So is the swap meet tomarrow on Saturday?
or is it going to be on Sunday?

There is no way I am going to get out on Sunday because of Mothers Day. I have soccer tomarrow morning kinda like you Bob.

It's tomorrow. The question now is where. Montrose to be closer for all the suburban people and the place suggested for the last month? or Miller where the wind will be better suited and we can have everyone new ride? I'm thinking Miller, but nothing official...I just need some support.

Being a noob, I vote Miller. But living in the City, Montrose is closer. I will be there either way, no matter which location.

IMHO, the weather doesn't look like it will attract many beach-goers (other than kiters).

Can the certification rule be suspended for one day? I'm sure there will be plenty of experienced riders at the event to keep things in check.

I think, if wind is in the picture, the event should be moved to a spot that would work for everyone to ride. Personally, I would rather ride than shop.
No wind, a centralized location ( Montrose) seems the way to go.
We`ve all driven crazy distances chasing wind, and I think you`ll get a better turn out at Miller. That`s where I`m headed, probably mid-AM.

It would be interesting to hear everyone`s longest day trip drives to chase wind, and if you found it.

I'm all for having the swap meet at Miller, with a NW wind that seems to make the most sense.

If its at Montrose, I might stop by after I'm done riding Miller...
