I am not very familar with the St. Joe area. What would be a good beach to go to around there today?

Tiscornia park is to the north of the Jetty and if you look at google maps satellite view you should kite on the beach to the south of the jetty (silver beach county park) to get the nice rolling waves. There WILL be other kiters out so follow their lead and stay away from the beach goers.

Fun day today! Montrose will have buggying, landboarding, kiteboarding, and definitely a beer or three at "the dock" Have a great time wherever you go!

I have gone to the north unit of zion. Flew the trainer. If memory serves the far north right next to windthrop harbour is the best option. Acctualy I think parking at windthrop harbour might be the best bet. The south side of the beach does have some submerged structures. I think it's the remains of some old houses maybe? You can make out the foundations on a clear day.

I went to South Haven and me, the Sherriff, Jens, Palantine Greg, West, Jimbo, John, EVO et al, did the 24 mile DW on 8-10m. Blew all day. Great day and met some great people! Epic day for August, nice 4-7 footers, blue sky and beer... babes on the beach, hit three floyds in Hammond for dinner, checked out West's new ride, (like going from a Yugo to an escalade) and generally just chilled with the whole beautiful scene. Its hard to go back to reality after a day like that!

I definetly will be back on the next good call, hopin for Pt. Betsie wave day with a flatwater Traverse City sidedish.

Great seeing you and Jens pull up right on schedule Greg, way to make the haul....I echo your sentiments, What a day!!!!!

Sheriff pulled up to my house Tues bout noon....we headed over to Da Haven for couple of days..........

Blueberry pancakes at Bob's after a night of toasting to Ol Mother Michigan...and it was on like DONKEY KONG come 7 am Wednesday. 9m, sunny, waves, buddies, warm El Norte, and 23 miles of shoreline zipping. It was a kite gathering gone real GOOD!!!!!!!!!! Wind blew all day, and kiters from here, there, and everywhere came to enjoy the "freak North"!! Downwinders were the call, and about a dozen kites made the trek from South Haven to St Joe, some making the trip for the first time, KUDOS..........we rode in South Haven till the wind backed off a bit toward sunset.

Great hangin' with the crew in the parking lot as the sun began going down.....ALL-TIME, damn that smoked salmon that Jimbo brought was incredible: bit of onion, cracker, slice of cheese , BAM!!!!!!!!

I watched as the wind kept blowin' down the beach, and decided to do an end of the day coast run.....still had my 9m rigged, so Ivo launched me and I s-turned my way down to 18th, with the sun winking at me all the way..........

3 Floyds on the way home for a Gumball head and we toasted the Big Lake again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good to hear it Henry....you must've been at St joe. Heard that later in the day there were quite a few kites in the air. One of the Mich locals said that there were as many as he'd ever seen at Silver Beach.....

Good call going over to the MI side. Keegs was ok but died at around 2 ish and never built back up.

Montrose was decent around noon, but then died around 1 and never came back. I had more then a few cocktails at the bar on the beach and then Obama came ONTO the beach to walk the dog and have his birthday party. CRAZY day I wasn't expecting. Even though the kiting wasn't as good I had a bunch of friends over and we had a good time.
