Surprise Sunset Session @ Montrose 8-24-11

When the wind suddenly kicks up and I see the few trees in Chicago moving around my heart skips a beat for just a second. I hold my breath in as I pull out my phone to check the "real" wind. Oh boy! It's true! The wind is here. "Where did this come from?" soon fades away as I start grabbing my bigger kites, board, harness. Just trying not to forget anything as I rush out the door onto my scooter. I hit Lake shore drive for but a brief 5 minute drive and I can see the trees shaking all around. The small sail boats are leaning hard. It's time!!

I unpack, pump up, and suit up. Ride into the sunset as countless people take pictures of that beautiful backdrop. I handed off my e-mail address on a business card that I have in my pocket (yep I put business cards in a zip lock bag in my board short pocket). A few hours later I get a surprise message from someone i just met only a few hours ago
