Back to Grand Haven this year. Got my room yesterday. Shaking the rocks for wind but bringing the SUP just in case. The city is hosting a indi rock festival that weekend too. Craft beer and rock. Should be a good time.

which motel/hotel is most preffered among kiters? where will most reside?

In previous years when KOGL was in Grand Haven, the Blue Water Inn was quite popular because its right across the street from the beach. Just a suggestion though...I'm not staying there, haha!

What happend to the October date? This thing used to be in Sept. and has been running in Oct. for the last few years to better get the good fall winds.

What gives with the new earlier date? and I also thought Muskegon was a prime spot for this.IMHO, pretty cool houses me and some of the crew have rented for the last few years.

Yea the muskegon sight has a east (edit) wind option and the enclosed area of flat water for wake style fun. But on the other hand... craft beer at the indi rock festival.

I'm thinking its the fest as well. I don't mind having live music and good food during the KOGL. As long as there's wind its a good move Steve! the event used to be early Sept like the 12th then it went to oct, where its a bit too far back, imo. I think late Sept is perfect. I hope to be there as well.

they don't have age groups at that event yet do they.....? like a Master's Division?!?!

They had a juniors devision two years ago. The masters age bracket for the IKA starts at 35.

Not going to be able to make it this year. Going on a cruise. Hope there is good wind for everyone!

Sup a bit at noon. Wind picked up and clocked on shore. Rode 1 to 6. Nice wind till sun down. Flat flat water. Good day. I tried the new 16M light wind crossbow. Dam that is a nice kite. Hope to have enough wind to try on on Sunday at muskegon lake.
