Hello!

I'll probably be at Waukegan on Sunday teaching lessons. Maybe see you there!

Here's a link to the location in case you need it:

They don't. It is free since after the LD weekend.
Just came back from there. Not much wind, except at the beginning (9-ish) but 9 or 10 kiters, at least 7 stayed, hoping for some action later on.

The wind was here @ montrose this morning, but it died in the afternoon just as predicted.

I think tomorrow will be the same. The sun is killing it now that the water is a little colder.

Not to argue about finer points of wind forecasting, adseguy, but:
1. Marine forecast just went up to 15-25 knots in the morning
2. It's supposed to be cloudy so probably not much heat to kill it

Anyway, to me it looks like a pretty good morning session. Hopefully, the rain will hold off...

No, please argue the finer points. That's what this forum is for :)

I just saw the upgrade too and I totally forgot about it being cloudy/rainy tomorrow. What a nice day out today. Perfect to fix all my gear for the start of the season.

What does the Sheboygan crew think about tomorrow? A couple of us are thinking 'bout heading up for the 1st time. What are the chances the rain will kill the nice wind forecast? http://www.ikitesurf.com/windandwhere.iws?regionID=142&siteID=922&Isection=Forecast+Graphs

U want rain on a SE...

SE have higher percentages in the fall on s side of the lake due to cooler land temps, less thermal.

Guys,
You speak in clipped phrases, and I am sure I got wrong what you are saying.
What I read is: the S side of the lake is cooler in the fall, therefore, for SE wind (or is it rain?) percentage of correct forecasts is higher. Something's not correct here.
Please explain for the benefit of the common folk

Boygz already crankin se. Hopefully when the pattern forms we get wind down here as i cant do a +4hr drive today rnd trip

Xwind, south half of lake mich plays tricks. In fall the water is warmer and land is cooler lessening the chance of thermal block on southerly winds but it can still happen. How many se forecasts do you ride? Not many. Not on south half of lake. Its rare and rain is almost always a necessity to keep that pesky sun out of rhe equation.

Sheboygan was the call today. Glad I didn't head to keegs, never materialized and the TAFs got downgraded I see.

Hopefully Sheboygan can hold. SHe's fighting, but still holding at 20kts+ though I am wondering about the accuracy of the windmeter these days. I hope its on the low side for the boys on the road.
