Looks like Saturday will be a beautiful kite day in many different locations, yay!

Students and I are headed to Waukegan for the day. Maybe see you out there! Here is the Waukegan location link:

Yippy! I'm staying in town for the weekend not going to Peoria. I'll be pumping up the little kites and stress testing the repair on my new TT at Waukegan.

waukegan in N NW?
Slightly suicidal IMHO, considering unclean side-off wind, strong current, 30+ mpg gusts. :)

I'll probably head to MC.

The forecast model that I am going by and hoping is correct shows N and NNE winds around 12-18 knots in Waukegan. The early morning does look a little iffy possibly.

Ikitesurf.com looks ok most of the day:

Fingers crossed again!

I'm thinking about going to Kenosha early AM. Sailflow (Kenosha buoy) is showing N 18-24 kts. However, this is the buoy and it tends to show higher winds that what you'd see at the beach.

http://www.sailflow.com/windandwhere.iw ... ast+Graphs

Windfinder is showing a milder forecast N 13-17kts and the wind meter here is closer to the actual beach so I think this should work for tomorrow.

I may stop by Keegs to check it out as well but my impression was that you don't go there unless you see NE winds (sometimes SE but not usually)

Any thoughts?

Cheers everyone

Anything from NNW to ESE is clean and safe to ride. You can tick over one notch more on both sides, but I try not to.

A few of us are planning to hit the lower right corner in the morn. Downwinders perhaps?? Don't know... haven't been to the Warren/Weko area yet!

Suit up properly!

Good wind and waves at Montrose this morning. Great session!

However, bummer coming in and finding out that my kite bag was stolen along with Larry's kite bag. Lesson learned at Montrose :-(

Lesson learned at Montrose

That sucks, but yea that beach is theft-city. Keep an eye, or better yet, I have a duplicate car key (non-electronic) that i wear around my neck under my suit with a long 600lb kiteline. No way is it gonna break, or get lost being jammed down into my suit. This way I can lock up the car fully and put all my shiz inside. Something to think about if you don't have keyless entry or don't want to leave a key on your tire.

Also, if you have a fear of losing it, get a heavy ziptie (homedepot) and zip a second duplicate to your car frame underneath that you can cut off if times get tough. I haven't done this but been thinking about it just in case "someone" goes kiting with my key in their back pocket and forgets about it and the locksmith charges $85 to get into your car at LSP, miles from no where and no cell coverage! (don't ask...)

V,

Agreed on "better safe than sorry" at Montrose. I have a separate key ring that I attach to my harness...

I never bring my wallet and I hide my phone in an unusual spot in the trunk. Never heard of a bag being stolen though.... Anything in your bag?

This isn't the first time and this won't be the last, but if I ever catch the M F'ers, they are going to meet me along with my friends "Thunder" and "Lightning"

Car keys with no electronics put them indeed around your neck with a good cord. Car keys with electronics: Get on of these
http://www.amazon.com/AquaPac-116084-Aq ... B000VQUUVW

I used to have one of those bags the super cheap kind and it worked out great all the time. Even with heavy duty crashes!!

Back home I knew people who did the tire thing with their car keys, the end result car stolen including everything. Indeed lessen learned at Montrose.
