Yippy! I'm staying in town for the weekend not going to Peoria. I'll be pumping up the little kites and stress testing the repair on my new TT at Waukegan.
Me = 145lb + 6" + (15M spd3 dlx, 11M x-bow, Kahoona 9.5M, 7.5V2) + Zap skim, home made 133 orange carbon aka Bifrost, home made black 170x50 cabon racing light wind tt, 133 wide tip carbon) + red helmet
The forecast model that I am going by and hoping is correct shows N and NNE winds around 12-18 knots in Waukegan. The early morning does look a little iffy possibly.
I'm thinking about going to Kenosha early AM. Sailflow (Kenosha buoy) is showing N 18-24 kts. However, this is the buoy and it tends to show higher winds that what you'd see at the beach.

Anything from NNW to ESE is clean and safe to ride. You can tick over one notch more on both sides, but I try not to.
That sucks, but yea that beach is theft-city. Keep an eye, or better yet, I have a duplicate car key (non-electronic) that i wear around my neck under my suit with a long 600lb kiteline. No way is it gonna break, or get lost being jammed down into my suit. This way I can lock up the car fully and put all my shiz inside. Something to think about if you don't have keyless entry or don't want to leave a key on your tire.
Also, if you have a fear of losing it, get a heavy ziptie (homedepot) and zip a second duplicate to your car frame underneath that you can cut off if times get tough. I haven't done this but been thinking about it just in case "someone" goes kiting with my key in their back pocket and forgets about it and the locksmith charges $85 to get into your car at LSP, miles from no where and no cell coverage! (don't ask...)
I never bring my wallet and I hide my phone in an unusual spot in the trunk. Never heard of a bag being stolen though.... Anything in your bag?
This isn't the first time and this won't be the last, but if I ever catch the M F'ers, they are going to meet me along with my friends "Thunder" and "Lightning"
