You know, apparently he fell in love with balls and drives, I'd never thought he could quit kiting and start golfing...life is strange sometimes...

HMmmmmmm,,,,,this has gotta be a joke, Im not buying it.

On another note, just completed my 24 hour drive and am back in the CHI. Gonna try and get some shut eye (after 12 redbulls, and 1600 miles) and be ready with the 5m tomorrow...errrr....today.

Back in the nik of time. Got it good today on my 10m. was riding around 4. was having good time. then i see some clouds/front coming. couple more tacks and I came into the beach to self-land. No more then 2min after i had landed the wind picked up a good 15knts and it started to hail big time. Good thing i played it safe or i think a mega loft might have occured.

Went back out after it passed and i was juiced on the 10m....waves and swell were huge. would ride over a wave and it would just drop and i would find myself 12 feet in the air with out jumping or anything.

Came in self landed again, I was boarder line too lit on the 10m. When i self landed I took out the chicken loop and went to leash,,,,,,well kite was so juiced, the part where my leash attaches too, ripped right apart. Near catastrophe avoided though.

Somehow need to find a new part for tomorrow.

Anyone have a SS bar for sale?

You can ride suicide for the time being. As long as it's not a C-kite and no winds like today it'll be fine to ride like that.

Schiff,you can clip your leash over the rope(above chicken loop,as Adrien said)Im riding like that all the time,or you can come to borrow bar from me,but I live in Naperville and you would have to bring it back tmr night as well..Have SS 2011..Just for the day.

What a 3 day blow...........MC on Thurs afternoon, as it was just coming in; Da Haven on Friday when it went absolutely ballistic, and SH to SJ on Friday when it backed off..............A tremendous time with Greg, Kurt, John Lynch, Roberto and Da Haven crew. Saw Mike, Jeff, John, and Annie at St Joe when we cruised down the coast.

As intense as conditions get when it was hammering, and as laid back and smooth as it gets on the downwinder.......Ol' Mother Michigan always a changin'................pizza and Bells on the beach at ST Joe with the bros just basking in the sunlight after another memorable downwinder on the BLUEBIRD skies, trees a turnin', beaches deserted, and the waves still a pumping.........PURE MICHIGAN!!!!!!!!!

It was a little lighter up here last Friday. 28-35kts. We did two downwinders.
I was very lit on my 9m and surfboard.
Waves were big. The period was pretty spaced, but not as nice as in those photos. Faces over head high; there was one that I was at the top of, looking down reminded me of dropping into a big half pipe.
Life jacket was clutch.
I am glad that everyone who went out came back safely.

We need more days like that for sure!

Our lil piece of the Chi crew had a spectacular day, morn-sunset, at Silver Beach. Wind clocked back-n-forth between N & NW a bit and waves were a little mean, nasty & sometimes unforgiving on the outside but a fun day nevertheless! Summer's over & a bit cooler but geared up properly and with the sun-a-glarin', the smile was just as wide. Great between sessions too, with the warm camaraderie between the boys... and girl!... & later, the stories of the adventures from West and his downwinder crew after their expedition 23 miles down the coastline. A site to behold seein' these guys tack in outta nowhere from outside the long pier, one by one and carvin' it up with style, joining us on the inside!

PICKED UP SOME ABANDONED BOOTIES & GLOVES OFF THE BEACH AFTER SUNSET. PM TO CLAIM.

That was a great couple days on the big lake. Jens, thanks for posting those pics of me. Me racing out of the way of the mountain of water sums up a lot of how it felt to try riding them, or be ridden by them. Here's a few pics I grabbed. Sorry, they're from my phone up on the bluff at SH, so not that great.

like most things in kiting, it just make things complicated and more things go wrong as a result of it. if you go out in so much wind that you think you need it, your kite is too big. it's so easy for something to go wrong in such strong winds when you're attached to one line like that.
