Weekend Oct 7th 8th

Postby jarch » Tue Oct 04, 2011 1:18 pm

Looking like the indian summer conditions will bring some south flow near the end of the week. Could be a great Sheboygan or LSP weekend.

Heading up to Sheboygan for teaching and riding! I will arrive to kite on Thursday or Friday and probably stay a few days. Is this the correct parking lot to use for South winds?

Ivo was telling me that with students and for learning head downwind (North) of the swim zone and begin there away from beach goers and the regular kiting crew; so we'll be down that way. Here are the rules/regulations again for anyone like myself that is heading there for the first time:

Looking forward to finally kiting at Sheboygan, a spot I've always heard such great things about!

Happy Kiting!

Yes it should be nice up here indeed as the forecasts looks great. I'm planning to ride friday after work and then saturday, with a chance today and tomorrow.

Amanda, Ivo pretty much got it right. Just north of King park at 7th and Clara ave is a great place to set up for a bunch of lessons, the beach is wide and very few people will be out. Plus the water is alittle swallower there and the beach curves out so beginners can get a nice down winder in and still end up on shore without problems. I really don't think there will that many people out but I bet the kiting area gets busy friday and saturday.

Ivo and Jarch come on up and make it a two day affair. Though if the forecast increases Bestie would be the call for sure.

Fall colors are just starting to get good here.

I'm really looking forward to this weekend

Thanks for the additional info Sheriff, it's much appreciated! Looking forward to finally meeting you!

Since students and I are kiting toward the North side if the beach is it a good idea to park at the end of Clara Ave?

We'll definitely be there for kiting on Friday and Saturday and possibly on Thursday. Anyone know a good place to pitch a tent around there?

As always thank you to Ivo for the early heads up and always being of the greatest assistance!

Happy Kiting!

Please stop jinxing the possibility of wind for this weekend.

That being said, there is a good chance that this weekend might be kiteable up here. :D

Kitenick, just park at the south beach parking lot. Don't worry about being a beginner, just launch and head down wind and end at the Blue harbor resort. The launch is area can get a bit busy on big days and watch out for locals working on big moves like unhooked to Banjo right off the shore.

Forecast is looking nice for the next three days here in Sheboygan. Bestie would be the place to be for the next week its looking like, so I'm guessing a number of people will be running up there. I would head over if the drive wasn't 9 hours for me, plus its hard to beat great kiting in ones front yard. I have only been to Bestie a few times, the lanuch is pretty intense and I would suggest that it is not a beginner spot, but it is right by the light house. Most people run downwinders to or from there.

Saturday is looking like a party here

First... thanks to everyone headed to Cheboygan for sending me money to stay away. The goal was reached and I won't be commin to Cheboygan, so enjoy the wind.

Now for you Waukegan people, $3 is all you could muster to keep me away? Pffft... I can't be bought... at least that cheaply.

I'm going to hit Waukegan.

Sincerely,

Mike "the Wind HATES me" aka Skysurfr.
