I dont know if it was the fact that i was actually warm today or the waves were solid head high or you just arnt supposed to be doing this in January but damnzz that was special. Nice 24/25 knots, with a full on cloudy sky that opened up to a full on sunny afternoon. Something about the angle of the sun and colors in the winter that cast a trippy light we just dont see in the warmer months. Few freak sets by the pier sent me on my last set, tired and in a daze swooping in and out down to the condos to call it a day. Sun went so quick, doesnt even seem like we were there looking back.

words impart so much more emotion than an image can muster; my imagination is running wild with the late season heist you're pulling off.........feels like I was there ripppin' it with you Railslide...keep on chasing those icicles buddy!!!!!!! ........I did enjoy the shots as well, esp. of the early evening lights glowing like halos, Pier....sure glad someone is ripping it..........

At least 10 of us riding 9 Jan over here...hard to believe it..but it didn't even seem that cold.
Waves were pumping and it was breeze on!

jayzoos Eric, haven't seen you in a long time!

We were all lit with 6's and 7's but wave path was almost straight downwind, so it made lip-smacking a bit challenging to time a really aggressive snap. If you didn't make the wave they tended to engulf you...churning and blendering you in the chilly water...still tons of FUN though. Long wave rides meant long beats to weather, and we really should've set up a downwinder (WHERE WERE YOU WEST?!?!?!)

Roberto...I've been out of the mix,

Due to back injury and and tough economy I had to lay low for almost a whole season.
I missed SO many days, SO many DW's, SO many good times with all my friends that I am just dying now.
Rehabbing and dealing with my injury and working has been the gig for me.
I do get out to ride here an there, but plan on really integrating back into the hunt next year.
Riding this year for me was pretty reserved...pretty much hurt alot just to go out and catch waves...no jumps or any fun rotation or loops...just plain ol easy on the knees wave riding.
I scored almost every windy day here in the Haven when I could make it, but couldn't make the drives to all of the other beautiful spots this year....made it to MK, LSP ONCE...I used to go up there at LEAST twice a week back in the day.

My buddy just bought a house a qtr mile from Duck lake launch...so perhaps I'll see you passing by on some DW's and of course see you at the spots we tend to hover over.

Just got a Surf Hero, so I'm hoping to capture some of the magic that you have shown in your sessions....just to have a shot like and blow it up to 24x36 and frame it, would look SICK in my office...so that is my mission. to get the shot.

really sorry to hear about the ongoing injury issues. Trust me, I can understand your frustration from my own experience. Hopefully you'll spend more time on the water (or snow) soon.

just plain ol easy on the knees wave riding.

IDK but some of the overhead gauges I had this fall hurt my knees more than an ole 40 foot jump. couple that with a sick aerial or acid drop from nice throwing section on the right day and i reckon you could all out break one if your landing is off.

this last season dished out some of the best we have seen in many many years and my knees are thankful its over for bit-ha
