Too cold for fun kiting but really great surf setup for the southend tomorrow. Offshores and big crowd sure to heat it up.

got a case of the noodle arm. really fun waves in the 34 degree water and air with some sun illuminating the faces late afternoon, however, if a kite were to be down and yer swimming in with face in the water, you could not tell the difference between the cold or having been hit with a bat in the head.

Nice, I would like to head down to the south end sometime on a good forecast, SUP with ya and check out your breaks. Sounds good

We got a very clean but smallish afternoon session in up here, an absolutely great way to start the weekend. Chest to waist high with a 10 mph offshore breeze and snow squalls moving in and out. A very chilled out session

Only problem was at the start of the session a couple of stand-up jet skiers were riding the waves. Good riders throwing back flips, they stayed a comfortable distance away, but it really changes the stillness of the snowy afternoon. Being around those things is like going to a great party and spending the night stuck next to a guy that is screaming and knocking stuff over the whole time.

Sunday late afternoon could see some big stuff here if turns off shore. If it doesn't we'll just ride it with our kites!!
I'd rather be Rollerblading

yeah skis would suck even if kiting. One year we had a big free for all at miller as some might remember with about 50 of those guys and 50 of us kiting that was a bit tense.

The casino spots would require lots of guts for one to zoom through in the winter down here. the guys are very protective and pretty tough to mess with for sure. it has become quite a fun/novel scene with loads of folks from pre dawn all through the day right into the dark of night. always 2 or so photographers with all the gear shooting the standouts making it our own little proving ground. Have not seen the place empty any part of the day in the last few years. Guys come from all over WI and MI now to surf here because we have so many interesting spots all along a corner of the lake, within a short drive to get it right. You wont likely miss getting it big and punchy if its a wintertime N going NW.

Even when windblown and coming down still delivers per these pics:
