As an annual fee OK. Not enthused but it beats $20 per at Waukegan. Wisconsin charges. Illinois is tottaly broke.

Once a tax is instituted it is almost never repealed.
2) The revenue will most likely go into the general fund and my guess is that less than a third of it will be used for its intended purpose the rest will be used to pay off state debt, interest and other pet projects.
3) Who uses the parks? Regular middle class and poor families and their kids. Just another way for big brother to stick us in the ass and take our earned money and give it to someone else.
4) With gas heading to $5.00 a gallon, $25.00 to get into the park plus food and drinks? People may just go somewhere else to play.

I think the Waukegan people should band together and see who can talk to about getting these fees remove or at least lowered. You;d be surprised how a group of concerned citizens will be heard. Plus if you get a petition going (IE: people at the beach signing something) you'd get a huge list pretty quickly.

The mayor of Beach Park has publically stated that he thinks the park was slow in recovering from the storm. inorder to bolster their "tax" idea.
