For those of you who went out today what were you wearing for cold water gear?

I am in the process of ordering a spring/fall wetsuit and was wondering if anyone had a recommendation? 6/4 w/hood 5/4?

At what point is a 4/3 do-able on lake Mich???

Can anyone speak to Pro-Limit as a brand?

Thanks Gents

Muskegon was incredibly nice today - especially for March 14 - such gorgeous weather!. And what crazy weather this winter...snowkiting and skiing in northern Mi 1 week ago, kiteboarding in the water here all winter??? Some ice still hiding in the rock nooks and crannies today, butter in the lee of the piers, maybe not an "epic" wave day but even some super clean waist high rollers wrapping around the elbow...

btw
recent thread about wetsuits for cold water: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10382
I think Motor City Kiteboarding is running some really sweet cold water Hyperflex packages.

Water temp here is still under 40. I was out with my 6/5/4 hooded Hyperflex Amp + 5mm Amp boots + 3mm Amp gloves and I was super toasty, not even a slight chill after 3 hrs.

Went to Wolf with about 6-7 other kiters. We were 5 people in the Wolf Lake Slicks at one point. It was awesome!!!! Today was a great day to showcase it. Warm, sunny, waist/ankle deep, warmish water (shallow). Yard sales getting thrown around from missed (too late) attempts at BIG back roll kiteloops I was burning up in my 6/5/4 today. I had to flush several times just to get my temperature back down internally. What a day! I'm recovering for the next one!!

Roberto Great pics man. I really like the last one with that crystal clear water. Great system for photos you got going. What is it?

We got it good here today as well. Guys started riding around 11 and we went strong until 5:30. Most on 13 s at first and then 11 and 12 meter kites as the wind kicked up. I hit the beach around 3:30 to strong winds and put up my 12. Got two hours with a classic Sheboygan set up firing. Strong and smooth outside with the wind being twitchy right next shore for 20 yards our so. Starting to head to the north and explore the wind in other areas of the beach as it is smooth and strong right on shore.
I'd rather be Rollerblading

At first it was 14m,12m around 12 till 2. Then picked up and we were on 11,10,9 until around 4. I'd say the 11 or 10 was the best call for the day in the afternoon. I left around 4:30, but it was still blowing pretty good and i think it was just up and down (not gusty).

I got to Wolf just after 5, and it was starting to get light. Most people were coming off the water. I flew my 16m until around 6, and was the last one on the water.

I have a Pro-Limit 5/3 that I'm using since 3 years and with the addition of an Oneill 0.5mm hotskin with the integrated hood I can ride with 37F+37F.
When it gets warmer I stop wearing the hotskin and I can keep using the wetsuit until mid summer.
The neoprene on the outside is water repellent and thus gets dry real quick.
After 3 seasons the knee pads are getting worn and I have few holes that I patched with the liquid stuff from Oneill...I hope to get it through another season or two...
The mobility is good for swimming which is really important as well.
