The other side of the Wolf?

I wanna know if anyone has ever tried to go to the Illinois side of Wolf for kiting or windsurfing.. check out my map and zoom in to see the spots I found for launching and kiting... The water is ALWAYS butter smooth b/c of the dikes and shallow as well. Is there something I don't know about why nobody goes here? I included the Indiana side of Wolf Lake opposite the Toll Way too.. I have fished everywhere on this lake as a kid and seems like an ideal place for any wind direction since you can park and launch from any side of the lake.

Heard from Scott that the Illinois side is off-limits.... did not read anything on the web site that it was, but maybe someone w/ experience could answer.. just a curious newbie..

I've seen that side, but considering Wolf Lake is easier to access, especially to setup, I don't mind our location. Maybe it's a national park or something, but again I'm not too interested because of the poor setup.

I like the attitude of looking for new areas though. I always love finding a new spot to slash around in.

I also have wanted to look at this place. Looks like it might be better than wolf for a South day, but it might be a weird launch spot.

Slag. Rocks. Weeds. Forest Preserve. I think the guys got cut up and chewed their boards when they tried it. Terry K was dealing with the Forest Preserve on the Illinois side, but decided it wasn't worth it.

yeah, checked it out myself.....but ruled it out when you consider the catastrophe of a runaway kite on the SKYWAY!!!!!

On a west wind your into the skyway and on an east just ride lake michigan. Also I'm thinking there has to be a crap load of hooks and monofilament from fishing. Could be an interesting spot for flat water on an east maybe?
