It was a bit crazy for more reasons than one.
The wind range was 0-30 miles/h, and it would go up and down within seconds, so one run could start with fighting to stay on the board while working the kite hard, and end with being dragged downwind, silly overpowered. Fun nevertheless.
But the real craziness was happening on the beach - I know, because of the new building, we would have to haul the gear additional 200 feet to a safe and empty lawn. Nobody did, and close encounters of a very unwelcome kind were numerous, kites going down in unsteady air and landing inches from beachgoers, slaloms between swimming kids, horror!
I'm not sure how to self-police that, or even wake people up to the fact that with the new setup, statistics are against nothing happening there in the near future, with another ban to follow...
P.S. Admittedly, I wasn't any better, the reflection came later, when I was watching from the shore...
