Congratulations to everyone who completed their certifications at Montrose yesterday! You all worked hard and got worked hard by the Montrose Machine.
I was wildly impressed by each new rider who stayed well away from the swim area, stayed at least 200 feet offshore, didn't bother the dogs or their owners, and didn't end up in the swampy corner!
If you didn't get a streamer, we are having more made. Just carry your card with you and show it if asked. (You should be asked by everyone who has one).
Remind yourself of the rules here:

Ask for help and advice from the other riders. We kite as a team.
As a one line summary: In the summer we are allowed access to the open water from Montrose beach. If you think of it that way, you should stay within the rules.
What your streamer is and isn't. It isn't a Montrose Pass. It just lets the guards know your certified and meet the minimum standards to ride at Montrose. In the past we had to check in and leave our cards with the guards. The streamer allows us to not do this anymore. Its up to you to know your ability and come in or not go out if you don't think its going to work for you. Wind, waves, your ability, beach conditions, swim areas, and the Final Decision of the Capt. of the Guards all play a factor in deciding if and when we can kite at Montrose.
Thanks Amanda for taking care of this during what has to be a hectic time in your life!
Thank you to everyone for staying safe, getting certified, and following the rules! Welcome aboard!
Mike
