Cabarete Dominican Republic

Cabarete's allure is somewhat more subtle. It is the unique atmosphere, the intimate blend of Dominican culture with those
of travellers from all over the world who, on a chance of a visit, fell under the spell of Dominican charm and could not bring themselves to leave the country.

This guide will help you to discover Cabarete, from the beaches, by proposing your a whole choice
of restaurants, hotels, beachbars, windsurf and kiteboardingcenters, and, more generally all activities of the city and its surroundings.
It will help you to know of Cabarete's people, the servicies available and the shops.

We just came back from a week at Cabarete, 5 adults and a kid, including 4 kiters. We had 7 out of 7 days of riding, 9m or 12m for big guys, 7m or 9m for the lighter crew.
What an amazing place - beautiful villa 50 steps from the launching site, friendly locals, quite cheap (everything except for the flight), surprisingly good scuba diving a few miles away, and an awesome adventure in the waterfalls - check it here http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_R ... ublic.html
We didn't party but judging from the sounds coming from beach bars, there are ample opportunities for that too.
The villas (called Nanny Estate, PM me for details) were located right between the Kite Beach and the Cabarete proper - excellent location, with much less crowded sky that at those too. It came to approx. $300 p.p. for 7 night. Or you can rent a 2bdr looking at the water for $800/week for the entire place.
Kiting is huge in Cabarete, 100+ riders on some days, and with it comes the infrastructure - all these super-fast $10 kite repairs, demos, lessons, etc.
We will be back, probably with more people. Highly recommended.
