Does anyone have a Race Buoy??

Postby adseguy » Mon Jul 09, 2012 5:23 pm

Surfrider is hosting a SUP race event on July 29th and they need a few race Buoys. They reached out to me and so I reach out to you guys for some help. If you can help out in anyway go ahead and let me know. Thanks for supporting this great organization that helps keep your water clean AND accessible.

Windward had some at some time.

Chicago Sailing out of Belmont Harbor might loan theirs to a good cause.

I have used Tide containers for short races. The old standby of hipity hops work good. You can also use ball shape boat fenders. The big tetrahedrons are the best for long legs that need good visablility and they don't hurt when you clip them at 20 knots. I tried that in mexico just to see what it was like. :) Anapolis performance sailing makes a 2 foot mark for $20.

They had one or two at the Jr. Lifeguard comp ... maybe the sailing fleet or park district will let you borrow them?
