I moved to Chicago 3 weeks ago from Massachusetts, I am new to this area and want to go kiteboarding ,but i dont know where to go. Tomorrow looks it will be great day for it,so if somebody can give me so information where to go and how to get there, I'll appreciate. Thanks

If you go to ChicagoKitesurfing.com and look on the home page you can see where to ride links. The Chicago area has only Montrose to ride in for that North wind and you must be certified with IKO or PASA to ride there (yes, cops and guards do check). If you want to ride in Michigan city tomorrow that's a spot that will be hopping with people. It's a little bit of a ride with a 1.5-2 hour drive, but it'll be well worth it with a sunset session and good food/beer in the area.

Couple hours ripped out of the west midday and now Sat looks thermalbound so might make it a 3 day sesh.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT TRY TO IMPRESS ANYONE UNLESS YOU ARE AT THE BUOYS. EVERYONE CAN SEE UR BIG MOVES EASILY SO DO NOT RUIN OUR KICK ASS SETUP. I KNOW SOME 500 PEOPLE HERE AND DONT WANT TO RUIN THAT. Chances are you will lose steam in the shore break anyway but realize people will be bodysurfing and bobbing under the waves leaving themselves disguised. THIS IS NOT A MONTROSE BACK UP AND WE WILL QUICKLY CALL THE WELL PATROLLED BEACHES WITH COPS ON ATVS AND HAVE UR ASS HAULED OUT IF TO REBEL. PLEASE HAVE RESPECT!!!!

Also...learning is ok near the end of the day when the beach will clear out. might even find big open spaces if you take the time to walk nonetheless. RRRREEEESSSPEEECT!

Hey not to hijack, I know people are going to M City, but anyone know the story with Casino beach?

I rode there a few weeks ago on a Saturday, just me and one other rider (John). At 6pm they were closing the gates and kicking everyone off the beach - but, they were OK with people still kiting on the water.

I went there after work one day and all the signs say beach closed at 6pm. Could you still kite? It works well on N & NE. Just wouldn't want to be arrested for rigging gear on beach.

N is fantastic. Water is always open. Park at amtrack. Great wave setup is the reason for casino however unless a full lake blow its not happening and so head east for the goods. Mc is the summer shizzle cuz waves get big off the weakest of fronts and beaches are big and endless for cutting loose. NE is very on shore but a perfect 45 at MC. hope that helps!

Fall at casino- be sure to follow the wave riding etti...Go left and dont snake or pinch off guys in line for their wave.

Forecast come down a little 15mph or so on windalert, 10-20knts NOAA... bring big kites! Can't wait to try out my new 14m Rally!! Be there round three hopefully...
