I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm going Saturday even if it means I'm pumping up my old 17m fuel and going out on my sup in 5 knots of breeze. It's been entirely too long since I've been on the water.

I'm a newby, so I'm not familiar with all the insider lingo yet, but it sounds like Saturday is gonna be a good day. I've been out a few times now on Lake Michigan, but have not yet had a great day where the winds were just right. I have taken lessons in Ft Meyers Fl., and I'm very safety conscious. I would like to meet up with someone with some experience Saturday if anyone is interested. Not sure what the best spot is with the current wind forecast. I have to be at Great Lakes Naval Base at 0800 in the morning, and should be done by 0900, so if anyone is going to Zion or Waukegan, I'll be right in that area.

If I didn't have to work in Detroit Saturday I'd be hanging out at Silver Beach all day.
If it goes 30 kts from the north the entire southern basin is going to be heavy.

I'm heading out of Chicago in the early AM to catch some wind as well. Looks like Casino or Mich City will be the spot. Let me know your plans and we will see if we can set something up depending on where you are coming from and the timing.

yeah looks like MC might be ground zero. beware cuz last time this happened (nw) we saw solid 15 footers and big dredging closeouts that can clean your world. should b just enough angle to ride some heavies on the outside. dont need much help cuz the size just moves you.

CONSIDER DRIVING TO THE END OF THE PARK...just a bit down from the pier as it does nothing for you on a nw and Its a busy area in the summer. This helps for us to congregate like last time where less people are if to lay out kites all over the beach.

If forecast holds up I plan on heading up to Silver Beach in St. Joe (bout 30min north of MC). Wind appears to be atta 45 to shore up there and not on directly on shore like MC is forecast to be.

Went there with scotty once on a NW and it was really nice and calm behind the pier, big ass rollers off the end, and clean waves down from the jetty with little to no current..had a little bit of everything. Might do lake street saturday off the jetty upwind...if it thermals, can always roll to mc or elsewhere...

4sure st joe if theres wind. last NW front Mc was the only windy spot and some missed it up north Yeah St joe if then wind holds up will be better angle. tonight shows more westerly than b4 so we see.
